It’s a title that leaped off the stand at me as I cut through the shops to avoid the rain. When you’re someone who, like me, is considerably more motivated by difference than sameness, the C word always stands out.
I found myself looking at a beautiful Advent calendar that, rather than proffering daily gifts of chocolate or cheese or tea (insert treat of your choice!), in the countdown to Christmas, tells you which charity you have supported today by making your purchase. It’s a truly wonderful idea that supports some of the most vulnerable groups in our society.
Sound like something you’d like to support? Before I forget, here’s the link: www.adventofchange.com
Having already decided that there was lots of reflection and writing to be done in December, it didn’t take long to decide to adopt Advent of Change as my theme for the blog during Advent. Can I write every day during the official Advent season? We’re about to find out!
Officially Advent starts today – 2nd December and runs until 24th. Do please check in and give me some encouragement to keep musing and writing!
If there’s a topic I *should* be able to consider for an extended period – it’s Change!
Change has been the most consistent thing in my career. Pretty much most of my life, really. I’ve experienced it, created it, led it and helped other people through it.
Increasingly it’s become part of my mission – not just to help people to create change, but to support them to feel confident in leading change too.
Where is this going?
There’s a very special reason I’d like to get beyond the Advent period and write every day for 30 days. I’ll tell you more of that later. But for now, suffice to say that “Advent of Change” inspired me to start writing during Advent and see where it leads.
I’d love your help to find out….. If you have questions about change – surviving, thriving, creating or leading it – please let me know either by comment here on the blog or send me an email. I’d be delighted to help you if I can, and you’ll be helping me write every day this month too.
That’s it for today. I’ll be back tomorrow for Day 2.
Are you on a mission to create change in your world? Do come and join my Mission Unstoppable community. I’d love to learn more about your mission, especially if I can help you to lead with confidence, create more impact and live a life that matters.
